Aubrey Bryce to ride for all 7 days of the IRONAID 24/7 Ride in support of Covid-19 health needs.

Updated: May 18, 2020

I am appealing to you as people across the world are dying from COVID-19. Here is how we can all contribute:

I am a member of the Ironman Foundation which is hosting the week long IRONAID “24/7 Ride for Relief”, an event to aid those in Global communities affected by Covid-19.

During the week beginning Saturday May 16 thru Saturday 23, I will ride every day including LeCycletique’s five virtual ride broadcasts. I will track the cumulative ride totals of all virtual ride individuals for each class, including myself.

In addition to our own ride broadcasts scheduled for that week, I will also complete the IMF’s group rides scheduled for those same days as well as solo rides on open days.

All cumulative totals will be reflected daily on the Le Cycletique’s donor page of the Ironman Foundations web site.

I am suggesting a minimum of $1.00 per Kilometre. Donors can choose to donate over and above the suggested minimum on any portion or, all the kilometres ridden. Our distance cumulative target is 5000Km’s. Our contribution goal is $5.000.00

This link to my personal donor page on the Ironman Foundation website provides more detail and and opportunity for you to contribute. I would very much appreciate your support:

We are all impacted by COVID-19 to some extent. However some facts below bring it into focus as to how it impacts many people,

Covid-19 does not discriminate. According to Worldometer, 314,684 people have died across all age, ethnic, social, gender, cultural and geographic sectors. It is a fact that that health disparities adversely impact the most vulnerable such as:

The aged, the sick and the informed

Our elderly mothers, fathers and loved ones, those with pre-existing conditions and compromised immune systems make them more susceptible to contracting the disease. The data shows that of the total deaths currently to date, up to 60% can be attributed to our most vulnerable.

Front line care-giving workers

Hospital staff and anyone else who, cannot “work-from-home” but in their quest to support their own families must place themselves at risk including their families.

Our first responders

Essential public servants like police, fire, ambulatory-care service providers, etc., who keep the peace and respond in times of emergency, no matter what the personal risk to health and safety.

Other essential workers

postal service, public transportation, food and grocery workers, garbage collectors and infrastructure workers who must brave the Covid-19 line of fire to get folks to and from their places of work so that what is left of an already decimated economic engine of our municipalities, cities and provinces can at least have some semblance of effective maintenance.

In closing, here in North America, give or take a few seconds, a death due to Covid-19 is recorded every 44 seconds. It took 18,000 seconds to put my thoughts together, do the research and write this letter. Those 18,000 seconds equates to 409 people DEAD. Please consider the reality of this statistic and how your donation can help in making a difference.

Here again is the donor link and thank you for your support.

Aubrey
